Michaela Zelenkova MSc

Michaela before training as a physiotherapist worked as a GP Exercise referral scheme instructor. Michaela completed her bachelor degree in 2007 at Brunel University in UK (West London) and most recently in June 2025 completed also her masters degree in neurological rehabilitation specialisation at the University of Antwerp. Michaela started her physiotherapy profession by completing two years of core physiotherapy rotations in the Wexham Park Hospital in Berkshire, where she has also worked as physiotherapy assistant during her training. From 2011 to 2022 Michaela worked for West London Ealing Community NHS Trust – Enable team, in the physiotherapy neurology outpatients clinic, specialising in neurological and vestibular rehabilitation, treating clients with multisensory impairment and complex medical history.

Michaela believes that exercise and being physically active is a powerful tool for staying healthy. In rehabilitation regular exercise of the right intensity makes a crucial difference to functional ability, strength and balance. Regular physical exercise and early application of meaningful functional movement at suitable level applied with respect to one’s individual preferences must be part of management of any acquired but also progressive condition.

Michaela lives and works in Belgium but remains registered with the Health Professional Council and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy in UK and it’s interest groups ACPIN (Association of physiotherapists interested in neurology) and ACPIVR (Association of physiotherapists in vestibular rehabilitation). She is also a member of AXXON the professional association for physiotherapist in Belgium and registered with the RIZIV (Het Belgische Rijksinstituut voor Ziekte-en Invaliditeitsverzekering). Michaela also works with LEGS – UK charity since 2021. LEGS caters for a wide range of neurological conditions and offers great quality physiotherapist-led affordable exercise guidance and classes.
